Our Story

Open since 1996, Tremont 647 is a 60-seat restaurant & bar in the heart of Boston's South End, featuring chef/owner Andy Husband's adventurous American cuisine, with inventive global influences. Chef Husbands’ commitment to locally grown sustainable ingredients is reflected in the restaurant’s menu, which changes seasonally to take advantage of what is freshest in the market. We also offer specialized menus during Boston’s Winter and Summer Restaurant Weeks. Not just a well-loved and popular restaurant and neighborhood bar, we are one of a handful of restaurants with an open wood fire grill cooking up some of the best steaks and burgers in town.

Sister Sorel the very cool and hip younger sister to Tremont 647 has a more casual and artful vibe. Located in the adjoining room to Tremont 647 it has seven tables for 2, 10 seats at its beautiful serpentine multi-colored onyx bar, and boasts a cozy elegant private dining room, which seats up to 12 people. Sister Sorel is the perfect place for small private functions from cocktail receptions to baby showers.

Tremont 647 and Sister Sorrel also feature outdoor seating on our patio, from April 1st - October 31st.

  • Ate there twice on a recent visit to Boston - it was that good! The wait staff are extremely friendly and the food is very imaginative - tried the lamb tenderloin with a corn and feta salad - yum! Brunch on Sunday is fun - waiters in pj's - try their take on eggs benedict - the best I've ever had. Great cocktails as well.

  • My wife and I had a truly delicious meal there the other night. We out very regularly and this was one of the more memorable meals we've had recently. The food was just simply delicious, bursting with flavor, creative and surprisingly affordable. Its a very cozy atmosphere, the outdoor seating is wonderful and the staff couldn't have been nicer. We recommend it highly and will be back soon.

  • This restaurant is wonderful. The Chef is very accomodating and the staff equally so. I brought a large party on a Friday night and everyone enjoyed the food and ambience. Will definitely be returning.
