Bio: I am an artist / designer residing in Cambridge, MA. I post daily drawings on my blog [http://chrispiascik.com/news]. I have a small apparel company called Print Brigade and I am a designer at Alphabet Arm. Basically I do not sleep.
Artist Statement: I often do questionable things, such as drink grapefruit juice because I don't really like it that much (my reasoning, being that it will last me longer - because if I really enjoyed it I would drink it too quickly and need more). There's a whole bunch of silly things like this that I do. This rational carries itself over into my art as well. Often times I won't have an idea for a painting but I want to start so I will draw something small. I'll then add something else based on the negative space left from the first element and so on. I basically trick myself into creativity. This body of work is spontaneous and improvisational. It encapsulates the media, my experiences, as well as human and spatial interactions. As I paint I will take in things surrounding me such as phrases I hear on the TV or radio and work them into my pieces.
